The post, published Adidas Originals Cheap on the Kinetic Revolution website, describes why Griffiths thinks that ¡°the term ¡°overpronation¡± is neither accurate, descriptive nor meaningful, and should therefore be erased from modern day usage in both the lay and the medical communities.¡± Griffiths covers a lot of ground in his article, pointing out such interesting tidbits as the fact that with regard to pronation:Across many studies, all of the data collected from pain free and injury free subjects and athletes shows that very few individuals actually meet the historical definition of ¡®normal¡¯.

Regarding injury risk due to ¡°overpronation,¡± Griffiths has this to say:It is a commonly held belief that pronation will increase the risk of lower extremity injury. However (perhaps surprisingly) this is not particularly well supported by the literature, with very few studies which actually show pronation increases injury risk. Instead, there are numerous pieces of work which have shown there is no association with foot type and injury and some research exists which even suggests that a pronated foot type is actually protective against injury.

Of all of the Adidas Originals top shoes on this list, this is the one I¡¯m most excited to try. Saucony shoes seem to work really well for me, and the Kinvara and Grid Type A5 are among my all-time favorite running shoes (both of these are also being updated this year). The Virrata looks to me to be a zero drop cousin to the Kinvara, which sounds fantastic. Weighing in at 6.7oz and with a stack height of 17mm, the Virrata is a bit more shoe than the Hattori, but a bit less shoe than the Kinvara. I¡¯m hoping it has the softish feel of the Kinvara which I like for long distances. The Virrata will be in-stock in mid-February at Running Warehouse.

I give the Merrell Bare Access 2 a slight edge over the Altra Instinct 1.5 due to the fact that the Merrell Barefoot last fits me so perfectly. Roomy forefoot, glove like fit through the midfoot and heel, and very little excess material (resulting in a considerably lighter shoe than the Altras). Like the Instinct, the Bare Access 2 has a full rubber outsole which should provide excellent durability. Great shoe ¨C you can read my full Merrell Bare Access 2 review here.

There are a lot of great options in this category, and a number of solid choices that didn¡¯t make my list. For example, the New Balance Minimus Road MR00 is really nice, but the sole lacks pop and it¡¯s a bit narrow through the midfoot (it also has an odd bump along the outside of side o Adidas ZX Flux Sale f the sole in this region). The Saucony Hattori LC is another nice shoe, and probably would have made this list but for the fact that I get a hot spot under my big toe when I run more than a few miles in them. I¡¯d consider both of these to be honorable mentions.

Pearl Izumi is releasing a new line known as E:Motion which features a collection of sub-10oz running shoes. The most minimal of the E:Motion line are the EM N1 Road and EM N1 Trail. Both are 6mm drop Adidas Originals Mens Sale . More details can be found on the Running Warehouse blog.
